crtools-dbg software package provides checkpoint and restore in userspace (debug), you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install crtools-dbg
crtools-dbg is installed in your system.
Make ensure the crtools-dbg package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep crtools-dbg *
You will get with crtools-dbg package name, version, architecture and description in a table
